WIKACHO: a semantic typing machineVersion: September 5, 2026 . This is the new version of our semantic tagger. |
This website is under construction.
Wikacho is the new version of the semantic tagger
that combines
the two previous taggers that have so far been published by Tecling.com:
1. Tatatag (2025), the tagger that uses Wiktionary,
available at http://www.tecling.com/textagram and
described in the following paper:
Nazar, R. (2026). Semantic Typing for Corpus Pattern Analysis. International Journal of Lexicography, vol. 39, 2026, ecag012.
and
2. Wicacho (2026), the one that uses Wikipedia,
available at http://www.tecling.com/wicacho and
described in this other paper:
Nazar, R.; Renau, I. (2026). Wikipedia used as a semantic tagger: some preliminary results in Spanish. Procesamiento del Lenguaje Natural, n. 76, p. 279-292.
The current new version (Wikacho) combines both approaches and integrates Wiktionary and Wikipedia.
At this point in time, this website offers a web-demo of the semantic tagger, which right now works only with Spanish texts.
We are working at full speed to have at least the English version ready and then we will also publish here all the source code of the project. Stay tunned!
